Biblical Foundation for The Shepherd’s Love Worship Center

“So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, ‘Abba, Father’.” (NLT)

-Romans 8:15

This verse serves as a foundational scripture for The Shepherd’s Love Worship Center. It reflects the heart of our ministry; that through the love of the Good Shepherd, we are not only found but adopted into the family of God as sons. The Shepherd’s Love is a place where individuals are not led by fear but are embraced by the Spirit of adoption, experiencing restoration, identity, and intimate relationship with the Father.

We believe that the love of Christ is not limited to rescue but extends to relationships. This ministry is committed to leading people from brokenness into belonging, from wandering to purpose, and from spiritual slavery into the freedom of sonship. Romans 8:15 captures the mission and message of The Shepherd’s Love Worship Center and stands as a spiritual cornerstone of our organizational identity and practices.

For The Shepherd’s Love, this verse affirms that:

· We are not just found; we are fathered.

· We are not just a gathering; we are a community given purposeful identity.

· We are not just saved; we are secured in sonship.

Our Mission

To reach the lost and make disciples through the transforming love of Jesus Christ.

Our Vision

To be a community where the rejected are restored, the wandering are embraced, and every believer is equipped to walk in their divine purpose and impact the world.

The Shepherd’s Love Doctrinal Statement:

What We Believe

At The Shepherd’s Love Worship Center, we are committed to the foundational truths of the Christian faith as revealed in the Word of God. Everything we do flows from the heart of the Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ, who restores the lost, affirms identity through sonship, and equips the saints for Kingdom work through the gifts of the Spirit.

God

We believe in one true and living God who is eternal, all-powerful, all-knowing, and ever-present. He exists in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, equal in nature and glory, yet distinct in personhood.
Scriptures: Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God; fully divine and fully human. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross as a substitutionary atonement for sin, and rose bodily from the grave. He ascended into heaven and will return in glory to judge the living and the dead.
Scriptures: John 1:1,14; Philippians 2:5-11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the present and active ministry of the Holy Spirit. He convicts, regenerates, empowers, and equips believers for godly living and service. Through the Spirit, we are comforted, guided, sanctified, and made bold witnesses of Christ.
Scriptures: John 14:26; Romans 8:9–11; Galatians 5:22–23

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is without error in its original texts and serves as the final authority for faith, life, and doctrine.
Scriptures: 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Psalm 119:105; 2 Peter 1:20-21

Humanity & Sin

We believe all people were created in the image of God but fell through disobedience. As a result, all are born in sin and are spiritually separated from God. Only through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ can we be restored to right relationship with God.
Scriptures: Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12

Salvation

We believe that salvation is a gift of grace, received by faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Through salvation, we are forgiven, justified, reborn by the Holy Spirit, and adopted as sons and daughters of God.
Scriptures: Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; Romans 10:9-10; Romans 8:15

Sonship & Identity

We believe that through the Spirit of adoption, every believer becomes a son or daughter of God. We are no longer spiritual orphans or slaves to fear, but heirs with Christ who can confidently cry, “Abba, Father.” This truth shapes how we live, lead, and love.
Scripture:
Romans 8:15; Galatians 4:6–7

Water Baptism

We believe water baptism is a public declaration of faith and inner transformation. Following Christ’s command and the early Church’s example, we baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in Jesus’ name.
Scriptures: Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:4

The Church

We believe the Church is the Body of Christ made up of all believers who have placed their faith in Him. As a spiritual family, we are called to worship, disciple, serve, and spread the Gospel.
Scriptures:
Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 1:18; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13

The Five-Fold Ministry

  • Apostles - Visionary leaders who establish new works, provide oversight, and create Kingdom culture.

  • Teachers - Instructors who explain Scripture with clarity, helping believers apply God's Word to daily life.

  • Prophets - Sensitive to God's voice, bringing timely words of direction, correction, and encouragement.

  • Evangelists - Passionate soul-winners who inspire and equip the Church for effective outreach.

  • Pastors - Shepherds who nurture, protect, and care for the spiritual well-being of God's people.

We believe these ministry gifts function together in love, humility, and divine order to equip every saint, build up the Body, and advance God's Kingdom. Each gift brings a unique perspective essential for the Church's maturity and mission.

Scripture Foundation: Ephesians 4:11-13; 1 Corinthians 12:28

The Return of Christ

We believe Jesus Christ will return physically and gloriously to complete God’s redemptive plan. Until then, we live in hope, purpose, and readiness; faithfully doing Kingdom work as we await His return.
Scriptures: Acts 1:10–11; Revelation 22:12; Matthew 24:30–31
